Sale of Community Property to TexDOT

Note: Special Meeting 11-14-09 at 10 A.M. at 2023 Wilshire Lane

Approval of sixty-seven percent (67%) of the owners is required to do a land transaction. A special homeowner's meeting will be held on November 14 at 10 A.M. at 2023 Wilshire Lane, Irving, TX 75061 (the community meeting place/garages) to vote. Owners may also vote by proxy at any time prior to that <here>.

What are your thoughts and suggestions? The Diamond Interchange is $518 million worth of highway projects are aimed at transforming how motorists maneuver through state highways 114 and 183, Loop 12 and Spur 482. Currently, motorists must exit highway main lanes or use cloverleafs to get from one highway to another. The Diamond Interchange will add direct connections to the main lanes of all the highways surrounding the stadium site. The Texas Department of Transportation has requested to purchase eleven (11) feet of our Brentwood exit alley for this expansion. More details click here

Traffic Control and Parking - What do we need to do?

NOTE: General meeting on September 19, 2009

Forget about the past disagreements on this subject (we certainly have had them) - let's go forward and find compromise solutions that we all can agree to. One thing we know is that pedestrians and automobiles share the same roadway and that we all want the community to be safe for our children, and our pets.

Let's discuss both the issues (because there is not necessarily agreement on what the issues are) as well as alternate solutions (because there is more than one way to address any problem - gates, treadles, signs, concrete bumps, asphalt bumps, plastic bumps, temporary bumps, temporary closures, Tomahawk missiles, etc.)

Exterior Paint Colors - Is it time to change?

NOTE: A decision will be made on July 29,2009
The community was chocolate brown (33% of the homes) and yellow (66%) from 1983-1991. We were "twiggy" for 13 years (1992 - 2005). And "twiggy" with a "rocky mountain brown" trim accent since 2005. Time to change it up a bit? See owners comments from the June 18 meeting.

OPTION 1: Do nothing (see Twiggy)
OPTION 2: Keep Twiggy, change the "rocky mountain chocolate" brown trim
OPTION 3: Take the siding up a shade or two. Use low-contrast accents.
OPTION 4: Move to a beige tone. Use low-contrast accents.

See the seven home elevations. See the 3 brick types.

Maids, Handymen, Plumbers and Carpet Cleaners

Do you know anyone that is reliable and fair priced? Please recommend them to your fellow neighbors - Maids/Maid Services, Handymen, Plumbers and Carpet Cleaners, Pest Control, Painters, , Appliance Repair, Chimney Sweep, Heat and Air conditioning, Lawn Service, Firewood, Tree service, Fence Repair, etc. ... or maybe a good place to buy flowers.

Better yet - those that have not been not so helpful and why.
